Employer confidential. The employer is not named on this advert, which is normal: it usually means they are replacing somebody who still works for them. We will tell you who they are before you meet them, and you can withdraw at that point with no hard feelings.
About the role
You will advise Kenyan students and their families on undergraduate and postgraduate study in the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. You own each student's file from first enquiry through to enrolment: shortlisting institutions, preparing and submitting applications, chasing offers, assembling student visa documentation, and keeping the family informed at every step. You carry an annual enrolment target and are measured on conversion, not activity.
What you will do
Run first-consultation meetings with students and, usually, their parents or guardians
Build course and institution shortlists against a student's academic record and budget
Prepare and submit applications, track offers and conditions, and manage deadlines across three markets
Assemble student visa files and brief students on financial evidence requirements
Keep every file current in the CRM, and report weekly on pipeline
Attend education fairs and school visits, including some Saturdays
Hit an annual enrolment target agreed at the start of each cycle
What we are looking for
At least three years in overseas-education counselling or international student recruitment
Demonstrated ownership of conversion or enrolment targets, evidenced with actual numbers
Working knowledge of UK, Canadian and Australian admissions and student visa routes
Hands-on use of a CRM or applicant tracking system
A completed bachelor's degree
Fluent English and Kiswahili
Based in Nairobi, or holding the right to work in Kenya. We are not able to sponsor a work permit for this role.
Experience dealing directly with parents and guardians, including handling objections about cost and outcomes
Available to start within 30 days
Experience with US admissions
Prior work at a British Council or IDP accredited agency
A network among Nairobi secondary schools
What you get
KES 1,320,000 per annum, medical cover, 21 days annual leave, and a quarterly enrolment bonus.
